In this 8-hour class, students will learn the most up-to-date information on safely working with clients as they navigate their cancer journey.

We will dispel the myths related to massage and cancer, discuss indications and contraindications, and develop safe and effective treatment plans. 

We will learn the risks involved when working on cancer patients, such as metastasis, DVT, and lymphedema, and determine when it is safe to treat and when you should refer out. What to ask in your intake forms, how and when to get physician approval, and tips and tricks when it comes to pressure and positioning will also be covered in the class. 

We will also discuss some common side effects of radiation and chemotherapy, and how to utilize massage to help alleviate or reduce symptoms of peripheral neuropathy, nausea, anxiety, and depression associated with cancer treatment.
