About The Event
Side-lying position (also called the lateral recumbent position) is a unique, and often underused, massage treatment position. Side-lying is a comfortable position for many clients, especially for those who are side sleepers. This comfort can lead to a sense of security, often enabling more effective work. Side-lying also offers the unique opportunity to place more lateral muscle groups “face up”, towards the massage therapist, making them easier for you to address.
This four-hour, hands-on class will help you guide clients into and out of side-lying position, teach you secure draping techniques for side-lying position, help you understand how to apply your techniques to anatomy in side-lying position, and understand when this type of treatment would be a good treatment choice.
*Tables, bolsters, and stools are provided for you. Please bring linens, lubricant for the skin, and cups are required for this course. (Do not bring glass fire cups)
