The TMJ Intensive: Manual Techniques for Jaw, Neck & Head Pain

This 2-day hands-on course facilitated by Scott Raymond LMT,

provides massage therapists with a clear, confident, and clinically grounded approach to working with clients experiencing temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD). Participants will explore the anatomy, biomechanics, and functional relationships of the jaw, neck, head, and shoulder girdle, with a strong focus on how patterns of stress, posture, and breath influence TMJ mechanics. Through movement assessment, palpation labs, manual therapy techniques, and integrated treatment sequencing, therapists will learn to address muscular imbalance, fascial restrictions, and nervous-system contributors to jaw pain and dysfunction. Emphasis is placed on safety, boundaries, and scope of practice, especially around intraoral considerations, while offering practical, effective external techniques. By the end of this 14-hour NCBTMB approved course, therapists will feel equipped to support clients with jaw tension, clenching, headaches, neck dysfunction, and stress-related holding patterns.
